The Future of Food Conference 2022

16 June

Cellular Agriculture Europe is proud to support the ‘Future of Food Conference’, organised by EIT Food on Thursday, 16th June 2022, in Brussels. The Conference will be a great opportunity to discuss future trends and priorities in European food innovation, in the broader context of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the EU Farm to Fork Strategy.

Cellular Agriculture Europe’s Vice-President, Hélène Miller (Aleph Farms), will be speaking at the workshop ‘Accelerating Innovative solution: The transition towards protein diversification‘ (14:00-16:45 CEST).

There is a growing recognition that combining novel and traditional protein sources is key to ensuring food security and addressing climate change and sustainability concerns. According to the IPCC’s Sixth Assessment Report, emerging food technologies such as plant-based (algae and insect) alternatives to animal-based food products, precision fermentation and cultured meat, can bring substantial reduction in direct GHG emissions from food production that weigh up to 30% of global emissions.
